Assessment of extension agents' promotion strategy on sustainable agroforestry management practices in Kwara State, Nigeria

This research assessed the agroforestry promotion strategy adopted by extension agents (EAs) in Kwara state, Nigeria. It investigated management practices promoted EAs, employed and constraints faced of sustainable study area. Census technique was to select 120 Data were analysed using both descriptive inferential statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean regression analysis respectively. The average age respondents 40years. Most (68.3%) males while females accounted for 31.7%. Also, majority (93.3%) married with an household size 7memers. Furthermore, showed that multipurpose trees on cropland, improved fallow shifting cultivation shelterbelt ranked 1st, 2nd 3rd Extension mostly (MS=3.6) through interpersonal contact farmers. Likewise, revealed shortage inadequate support from government major inhibiting state. result (b= 0.33, p<0.05) years working experiences (b=-.038 significantly influenced used EAs. In conclusion, mainly farmers emphasis shelterbelt, shifting. is therefore recommended other areas should be EAs provide adequate services
